DART joined the memorandum with Camino Podolico

The State Agency for Tourism Development has joined the Memorandum of Cooperation for the purpose of developing and popularizing the Way of St. Jacob in Ukraine. The signing of the accession protocol took place in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi, as part of the opening of the tourist season in Khmelnytskyi. In addition to DART, five more participants joined the memorandum – the National Natural Park “Podilskyi Tovtry”, the Dunayevets City Council, the Chortkiv City Council, the Zhvanetsk Village Council and the public organization “Khmelnytskyi Caving Club “Atlantida”. According to the Head of the State Tourism Development Agency, Mar’ Yana Oleskiv, today Ukrainian tourist routes are successfully integrated into the European tourist space. “The Camino Podolico, modeled on the Ways of St. James, which pass through the whole of Europe, is undoubtedly a very well-prepared route. And this is precisely the tourist product that we can use to interest not only Ukrainian tourists, but also European travelers who are great admirers of unity with nature. I am sure that with joint efforts, this route will become one of the most popular in Ukraine, including among foreigners,” said the head of DART. We would like to remind you that the Camino Podolico is a cultural and educational and pilgrimage route from Vinnytsia to Kamianets-Podilskyi via Bar, similar to the Ways of St. James, which pass through the whole of Europe and lead to the city of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The route connects 13 points of Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions. It allows you to plan a walking or cycling trip with the necessary infrastructure for food and overnight stays every 20-25 kilometers. This year, at the end of April, the first full season of the Podilsky Way of St. Jacob started. On this occasion, the organizers expanded the tourist route. A new section of the path leads from Kamianets-Podilskyi to the spring of St. Jacob.
